Poet, Writer & Human

Chrissy Montelli is a writer from Long Island, New York. She received her MFA from UMass Amherst in 2018 and is the author of two poetry chapbooks, Heart Float (Bottlecap Press) and Going to Ithaca (Ghost City Press). Her writing has appeared in Business Insider and a handful of lit mags; by day, she writes product copy and fragrance descriptions for Yankee Candle. Her literary claim to fame involves a 2015 blog post about how poetry cannot be dead if we keep announcing its death over and over, which caused a small ruckus on Twitter after The Washington Post linked to her blog in an attempt to prove her wrong. (For the record, that guy reads poetry now.)

Chrissy lives in western Massachusetts with her partner Michael and a cat named Captain.
